TAKE A 'TITANIC' TOUR OF HARTFORD!

Now extended through September 21st!

TheaterWorks, in conjunction with the XL Center, invite you to set sail for a collaboration of TITANIC proportions!

Your Travel Itinerary:

1st Port of Call

TheaterWorks, located at 233 Pearl Street, celebrates the arrival of the Titanic Exhibition at the XL Center with Titanic and Two Rivals, a free exhibition of Hartford artist Peter Sparre's meticulously researched and detailed illustrations of the R.M.S. Titanic (1912), R.M.S. Mauretania (1907), and R.M.S. Atlantis (a fully-realized rendering of a 1916 steamship of Mr. Sparre's own creation). An expert naval draftsman and a founding ArtWorks Gallery member, Sparre's collection of seventeen images is beautifully presented amidst the splendor of 233 Pearl Street's main lobby, and celebrates the era of the mighty steamship luxury liners.
.
The 233 Pearl Street lobby will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. for viewings of Titanic and Two Rivals.

2nd Port of Call

The XL Center welcomes seasoned sailors and land-lubbers of all ages to The Titanic Exhibition. The exhibition has been designed with a focus on the legendary R.M.S. Titanic's compelling human stories told through nearly 300 authentic artifacts and extensive room re-creations. Visitors are quickly drawn back in time to 1912, as each receives a replica boarding pass of an actual passenger upon entrance. The exhibition then takes guests on a chronological journey through life on the Titanic. Attendees will marvel at authentically recreated first and third class cabins, view the ship's boiler room, feel the temperature drop as they press their palms against the iceberg, and learn of the passengers and their countless stories of heroism and humanity.

One of the many galleries is dedicated to Connecticut connections where visitors discover the State’s reaction and ties to the events. In the “Memorial Gallery” guests will take their boarding pass to the memorial wall and learn if their passenger and traveling companions survived or perished.

The Titanic Exhibition at the XL Center is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The exhibition runs through September 21, 2008 with tickets costing Adult $22, Child $18, Senior $20 with an audio tour option for an additional $7. Please note admission prices do not include a $1 Facility Fee per ticket. Reservations are recommended.

SPECIAL OFFER FOR FRIENDS OF THEATERWORKS! Receive $4 off your admission when you use code VISITCT online or over the phone through Ticketmaster. Cannot be combined with any other discount offer and is not applicable to previous purchases.
