Subscription Information

Miss a show? You get free, extra seats for the next one!
If you ever miss a play, you can bring friends (or complete strangers, for that matter) to the next production – free! Call for details because, yeah, there a couple of catches, but no biggies.

No tickets. How can you lose?
TheaterWorks doesn’t use tickets. So there aren’t any tickets to lose. Like a restaurant reservation, once you’ve called us to book your seats, just come to the show and give your name at the door. Seating is general admission, so arrive early. Or book Center Reserved seats for a little extra and linger over a delicious meal at Bin 228 before the show!

To subscribe, call (860) 527-7838

How TheaterWorks' Subscriptions Work

1. Choose when you want to see a play.
A TheaterWorks subscription lets you come to our plays any time you want. You'll receive a reminder postcard prior to each play of the season, as well as e-blasts (if you give us your email address), or you can simply visit our website. You choose when you want to attend.

2. Call us to have seats held for you.
Once you've decided when you want to attend, call us at (860) 527-7838. We recommend calling 10 to 14 days in advance as many performances fill up quickly. You'll reach us directly on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Other times, leave a message with your name and phone number, how many seats you want and for which date. We'll call back with confirmation. If you don't hear back from us within 48 hours we may not have gotten your message -- please call back. Note: we usually do not return calls on weekends.

3. Nope, No tickets.
TheaterWorks doesn't use tickets. Once you've called in your seating request, you just come to the show and give your name at the door. Then, since subscriptions are for general admission, you choose your own seats from what's available. The theater opens one hour before showtime, and you should arrive early for the best choice of seats. A limited number of reserved seats are available for a surcharge of $11 a ticket -- call well in advance for these. Special seating needs are always accommodated, as long as we are notified well ahead of time. TheaterWorks does have an accessible elevator. When you enter the building through the marquee entrance, ring the bell and someone will come to assist you.

Note: at curtain unclaimed reserved seats are subject to release. Latecomer seating is handled at the discretion of the staff based on availability and is not guaranteed.

4. Buying extra seats or reserved seats.
To purchase extra seats or upgrade to reserved seats, you can use a credit card or mail a check. Extra seats are not refundable; reserved upgrades are not refundable and non-transferable.

5. If you miss your performance, we'll give you credit seats.
If you ever miss a play, we'll give you credit seats so you can bring friends to see the next show, free. We don't issue credit seats automatically. Prompt us by calling between the show you missed and the start of the next. Credit seats are good for the play that immediately follows the one you missed; they can't be used on Saturday nights and don't transfer from one season to another.

6. Where we are and where to park.
TheaterWorks is located at 233 Pearl Street in downtown Hartford. Discounted parking is available at the Goodwin Square Garage. TheaterWorks' mailing address is TheaterWorks, 1 Gold Street, Hartford, CT 06103
